What is Mac OS X Mail?

Mail is the graphical email client built into Mac OS X. The Mail application has the ability to send and receive email through IMAP, Exchange, POP, and MobileMe accounts. For information about the latest version and its features, see Apple's page What is Mac OS X: Mail, ical, Address Book.

Mail offers these features, among others:

  • Spotlight searching
  • Dynamic Smart Folders
  • Integrated photo resizing and slideshows
  • Advanced junk mail filtering
