What is an IU Network ID?

Your Network ID is your electronic identity at Indiana University; it consists of both a username and a passphrase.

You will use your Network ID to access almost all technology services at IU, including your IU email, computers in IU Student Technology Centers (STCs), and software on IUware or IUanyWare. You will also need your Network ID to log into Oncourse and OneStart, and to create or manage IU computing accounts, including maintaining your passphrase.

Note: When accessing your Imail or Umail account from the vendor site, you will need to use the vendor passphrase you chose; this may not be the same as your Network ID passphrase.

If you are a new student, faculty member, or staff member at IU, you will use the AMS to create your Network ID when you get your first IU computing accounts; see How do I get my first computing accounts at IU?

If you are IPFW faculty or staff, contact the IPFW IT office at 260-481-6030 to get your Network ID.
