In the Knowledge Base, what are frozen documents?
Frozen documents in Indiana University's Knowledge Base contain information that is still useful but unlikely to ever change. For example, documents about software that people are still using but that is no longer being supported or developed (such as older versions of Windows and Mac OS, and older office applications) can be frozen.
Frozen documents are not included in the yearly document review cycle, and their review has less priority than that of live documents. When they are reviewed, the objective is to see if they should be archived. However, their accuracy is as important as that of live documents, so care should be taken when judging candidates to freeze.
