About collecting data from students

The US federal government regulates research involving human subjects, and so has established substantial regulations that govern the collection and use of information gathered from respondents through surveys and other means of data collection.

Campus Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) oversee Indiana University's compliance with federal human subjects regulations.
