At IU, where can I find the "Acceptable Use Agreement - Access to Technology and Information Resources - Employees" for access to institutional data and applications?
The "Acceptable Use Agreement - Access to Technology and Information Resources - Employees" is the first step of a three-step process for gaining access to administrative systems at Indiana University; see How do I get access to IU institutional data and applications? Prior to beginning this process, University Human Resource Services (UHRS) must process employees' paperwork, and employees must create their first IU computing accounts; see How do I get my first computing accounts at IU?
Before gaining access to sensitive data, the employee for whom access is being requested must read and agree to appropriate data handling use statements. The employee may access this agreement from any Web browser and through any ISP, and may do so prior to his or her start date.
The completed Agreement is immediately recorded online. Once the employee provides an e-signature, the department may continue to the next step in the process of requesting access to institutional data and applications.
Note: Employees, supervisors, Data Managers, and Data Supervisors may not request access to institutional data and applications until the employee has completed the "Acceptable Use Agreement - Access to Technology and Information Resources - Employees".
The "Acceptable Use Agreement - Access to Technology and Information
Resources - Employees" is managed by the University Information
Policy Office (UIPO). For more information, contact the Policy
Office at uipo@iu.edu .
