In Windows, how do I enforce disk quotas?
For every drive on your Windows 7, Vista, or XP system, you can establish a maximum amount of disk space available to people using your system. To set up a quota on one of your drives:
- From the desktop or
Startmenu, double-clickMy Computer.
- Right-click the drive icon. In Windows 7 or Vista, from the menu that
appears, choose
Properties. In Windows XP, from the menu that appears, chooseSharing and Security....
- Click the
Quotatab and checkEnable quota management. You'll then be able to access the other settings on this tab and set specific quotas for users.
