In Windows, how do I enforce disk quotas?

For every drive on your Windows 7, Vista, or XP system, you can establish a maximum amount of disk space available to people using your system. To set up a quota on one of your drives:

  1. From the desktop or Start menu, double-click My Computer.

  2. Right-click the drive icon. In Windows 7 or Vista, from the menu that appears, choose Properties. In Windows XP, from the menu that appears, choose Sharing and Security... .

  3. Click the Quota tab and check Enable quota management. You'll then be able to access the other settings on this tab and set specific quotas for users.
