In Windows 2000, XP, or Vista, how do I remove program icons from the Start menu?

To remove program icons from the Start menu in Windows 2000, XP, or Vista:

  1. From the Start menu, click Programs in Windows 2000 or XP, or All Programs in Windows Vista.

  2. Right-click the item you wish to remove, and then click Delete.
